The Young Leaves - "life underneath"

" The Young Leaves' "Life Underneath" is an album that has it's rock and roll heart in the veritable right place. As in neatly couched between Superchunk, Dinosaur Jr., The Replacements. The full-throated vocals and searing guitar of Christopher Chaisson cuts a swath through the tightly wound and pinpoint rhythm section of bassist Pete Camerato and drummer Simon Jay. Sure, their musicianship is top notch, but ultimately, what makes a good band GREAT? GREAT SONGS. This ten track album is better than whatever you are listening to right now. These songs will get stuck in your head, shake you up and move you to a better place in life. I had the good fortune of seeing The Young Leaves live before hearing the record, and they killed it. I'm happy to report this album not only delivers on the promise of this band live, but accurately captures the whirlwind of melodies interlaced with the kind of speaker damage only a band of this caliber can do. Find this record, people, and get on board. The best bands out there aren't playing Live Nation venues. They are playing your local bar, basement, or hall. The Young Leaves are one of the best. "
Rating 11/10. Essential. Yeah, this one goes to 11.
