Larry And His Flask Live At Asbury Lanes 9-25-11: Beards Are Rock and Roll, Motherfucker!

Excuse the expletive in the title, but having never heard of, nor seen, Larry And His Flask up until this past Sunday night, I'm practically in a fit screaming at myself "HOW HAVE I NOT KNOWN ABOUT THIS BEARDED ROCK AND ROLL JUGGERNAUT BEFORE?? HOW HAS THIS BAND OF STAND-UP BASS PLAYING, BANJO SLINGING, GUITAR SHREDDING, CROWD DECIMATING PACK OF HAIRY PARTY ANIMALS ESCAPED MY NOTICE FOR SO LONG??? FUUUUUUUUUCCCK!!!!!!!!" Seriously, the rock I have been living under was just lifted by a bunch of dudes resembling an Amish barn-raising committee.

All hyperbole aside, Larry And His Flask showed a guy that has become increasingly jaded with rock and roll that it is and still can be the best thing on this planet of ours. I knew nothing about their songs before this gig. Didn't matter. I was instantly swept up into the Flask's whirlwind. These guys won't let you sit idly by, they take the rock and roll to you. Often venturing out into the crowd, playing in your face and veritable lap, Larry And His Flask deliver on their one promise: to insure you have a great time. Oh, and if I wasn't having a great time already, discovering new sonic gems that I surely need to acquire, their magnificent cover of Thin Lizzy's "Cowboy Song" pretty much etched their name on my heart.

Do you jaded ass a favor. Go out and catch Larry And His Flask when they come to your town. You'll never doubt rock and roll again.
