(In no particular order) 1) Cleaners From Venus - English Electric If Ray Davies fronted Guided By Voices, this is what it would sound like. Lo-fi, English, and spectacular. 2) Guitar Wolf - Space Battleship Love Any time a new record from Guitar Wolf comes out, it's a good time for rock and roll. A cleaner sounding affair, it's still the savage beating heart of rock and roll. 3) Plow United - Sleepwalk: A Retrospective It's an essential overview of a not so well known mid-nineties punk rock band, that in reality should've been a household name. This three piece crapped all over any other band that existed at the same time as them back in the day. Thankfully, they have returned to us when we need them most. 4) Tom Waits - Bad As Me The legend comes out of his usual self-imposed exile to give us Philistines the gift of a tremendous album. 5) M.O.T.O. - Pack Your Troubles In Dreams Raw, fun, and mindless. Or brilliant. Maybe both. 6) The Fiendz - Commit To Memory They've found all the pieces, and put together an album that will stand the test of time. 7) The Beach Boys - Smile Sessions Because everyone needs to peak inside the mind of a genius. 8) The Extras, Inc. - Still Suck A new release from one of the best bands you've probably haven't heard yet. Correct that, now. 9) Glen Campbell - Ghost On The Canvas A fitting closing chapter on the legend himself. 10) Noveller - Live At WFMU There are plenty of sessions available at the Free Music Archive from Sarah Lipstate (aka Noveller), and they are all incredible. Guitar sculpture/soundscapes. Ethereal, majestic, brilliant. 11) Raveonettes - Raven In The Grave The song "Recharge And Revolt" is 2011's anthem. Thank you for the music, Jay Ingstrup
