Band Of Beards - "fuerteventura"

Band Of Beards "Fuerteventura" is a head-long charge into a rock and roll wrestling match, complete with audio clotheslines, sonic figure-four leglocks, and musical headbutts worthy of St. Savage himself, the Macho Man. This album is paced like a classic wrestling match, hitting all of the right spots, and making you feel like Da Beards brand of rock and roll has some muscle, swagger, and the ability to generate heat in any ring you put them in. Any and all foes (other bands and potential fans themselves) will find themselves dazed and counting the lights after hearing what is arguably one of the more exciting records I've heard this year. For those that don't like wrestling metaphors, how about this: If Twin Tone Records had come back from 1985 with it's fists held high, saying we will rock your face off. Now get up off the mat and discover this band for yourself.

Rating: 9/10 Snap into it.

Fuerteventura is the debut release from Band of Beards, a three-piece rock band from New Jersey. Many bands will talk about making music "for the fans," but this band is not one of them (mostly because they don't have any). Band of Beards plays music for themselves, because they don't know how to do anything else. Sometimes they'll do it for each other, but that's only if there's promises of pizza. Even then, they're only doing it for the pizza. Band of Beards - Doing it for themselves (and sometimes for the pizza).
