Johnny Winter - "roots"

The blues. I've got 'em. You've got 'em, too. Kim Khardashain doesn't have them. Johnny Winter has dem blues. JW's "Roots" takes a musical journey back to the bygone days of America, when dust was everywhere, you could shoot a man for dancing with your hussy of a girlfriend, and the alcohol was so strong it could blind you before you hit the floor. Is "Got My Mojo Workin'" the "Louie Louie" of the blues? Perhaps. But hearing Johnny Winter perform it I still get that shake in my leg, the one that says it's time to skip town before that girl I've been touching's husband shows up. Hearing Jimmy Reed and Robert Johnson tunes are always a good thing (unless you are Eric Clapton. If you are JUST STOP.). This is an acceptable homage to some great musicians, played by one himself.

Rating 7/10. "Dust My Broom" rocks my face off.
