Hey Everyone, Happy (insert greeting card invented holiday name here)! Yeah, so I'm a bit cynical towards the ridiculousness of this holiday. I mean if you are in love (as I am proud to say I am), shouldn't every day with that person be special? One day to go out and buy up cards, flowers and candies, then you never have to show you love the person until the next (insert greeting card invented holiday name here)... Anyway, big thanks to: and our friends at Upstage Magazine, for making another wonderful night of rock at the Court Tavern. We can't wait to come back there for another great rock show! That's right folks, this week marks the return of BlowUpRadio.com's Album of the Week, and what a great album to return with, Jon Caspi's "this town". Tune into our webcast all this week to hear every song from "this town" interspersed into our regular rotation of local NJ rock. You can also check out our Album of the Week web page for a review of "this town", a link to Jon Caspi's website, and you can download a song from "this town". That's right folks, not only can you hear songs from the album on the webcast, but just in time for Valentine's Day you can download "marry me" from Jon Caspi's "this town", just by checking out our Album of the Week web page. Speaking of returns and Jon Caspi... That's right, Folk You! returns! Since losing it's home in November, many have asked when this monthly acoustic rock fest would return and I am proud to say that on Sat. March 5th we will be doing the first Folk You! show at SICA. SICA stands for The Shore Institute Of The Contemporary Arts, and is a really cool art museum and coffeehouse. Folk You! has always been at places that incoporates art in a big way into their decor, so moving Folk You! here seemed like a perfect fit. And what a perfect line-up we have set up for this show: Tony Tedesco Chris Pierson Michael Ferentino As if that line-up and the new venue wasn't enough good news, here's two more great pieces of news: - SICA is ALL AGES!, so everyone under 21 that always beg me to do an all ages show, well here it is, come out and support it and let me know you want more all ages shows. - The show starts at 8pm and will be over by 11pm, so those of you who complain that shows run too late can come out and still get home before midnight. For everyone else, you can use this as the start of your evening and after the show make the short drive into Asbury Park to go bar hopping. This is the perfect win-win situation for a perfect show! So remember, March 5th, 8pm, Folk You! makes it's triumphant return to the scene at a new home, SICA. SICA is located at 20 Third Avenue in Long Branch, NJ. And don't worry Hoboken, there will be a Folk You! show back up there soon too. One last note, for those wondering when you can hear Lazlo's Den on Asbury Music's webcast, it's new time is every Wednesday at 8pm. Log in to hear some tunes I think are cool from outside the Garden State. Peace, Lazlo |
