BlowUpRadio.com & WRSU present Folk You! @ Indigo Coffeehouse Sept. 9th

Message From Lazlo

Hey Everyone,

There is no way to start this week's newsletter without talking a little bit about the devastation Hurricane Katrina did to the south. Like all of you, I have been horrified watching the footage, and wanted to do my part to help. There are several ways in which I have decided to do so:

1. At every BlowUpRadio.com sponsored show this month I will be collecting donations for Red Cross. I am lucky that my regular day job is a company that is willing to match any donation made by an employee, so at the end of the month I will make a donation to the Red Cross with all the money collected and the company I work for will double the amount of money raised.

2.

I am putting together a webcast benefit that will run on BlowUpRadio.com and Upstage Radio. The webcast will feature live performances from many of your favorite local artists, and ask you to make donations to Red Cross and other charitable organizations helping out in the south. I will let you know when this will air.

3. I will help and promote any Hurricane Katrina benefit going on that I can. Currently I am aware of the following benefit shows happening:

Sunday Septemeber 11th The Saint is having two shows (day & night) to benefit the Red Cross. There is also a benefit going on at The Rail in Bound Brook that night to benefit the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

Sunday Septmeber 18th will be a benefit for the Red Cross at The Stone Pony.

And Sunday September 25th will be a benefit for the Red Cross at the Starland Ballroom.

As more shows and information on the shows comes along I will get it to you.

~~~
This weekend BlowUpRadio.com is proud to be co-sponsoring 2 shows with our friends at WRSU.
The first up is Friday September 9th at 7:30pm at Indigo Coffeehouse (1208 Route 34, Aberdeen). This free, all ages show features acoustic sets by:
Michelle Vecchione Chris Pierson Gary Paul Hermus
The next night, Saturday September 10th, is Souls' Release's CD Release party at the Crossroads (78 North Ave, Garwood). This show includes sets by:
Souls' Release Dacks Echofission
And remember, at both shows we'll be collecting donations for the Red Cross.
~~~

And finally this week, BlowUpRadio.com is proud to announce the return of:
BlowUpRadio.com Live

Tune in to our webcast every weeknight at 9pm to hear BlowUpRadio.com Live. That's right, 5 chances each week to hear some great concerts from our archives.

This week's show features an incredible solo set by Jeff Devito, lead singer of Particle Zoo, recorded live at The Court Tavern on 8/20/04, and as a preamble to their CD release party, hear a great live set by Souls' Release, recorded live at the Loop Lounge on January 14th of this year.

~~~
One last note (I know I said, "finally", above, but I just remembred I have one more thing to say)...
Response to the CD of the Month Club has been very good, but before I continue to work on this I want to give people a couple of more weeks to express their interest.
So if you are interested in making a yearly donation of $30 or more, to get a new local band CD each month for a year, e-mail me at Lazlo@BlowUpRadio.com and let me know.
I'm not looking for money right now, just interest level.
If you have any questions, please e-mail me too.
Ok, that's it for this week. Hope to see you out at the shows this weekend.
Support Local Music!
Peace,
Lazlo
