I am Time magazine's person of the year!
Wow, what a week! First BlowUpRadio.com celebrates it's 6th anniversary, and now Time Magazine names me Person of the Year! Ok, so that's not exactly true, they named all of us who, "control the Information Age", through the use of the World Wide Web. ...(more)

Alex Brumel: "the next big thing" from NJ? For me there is nothing like that feeling of witnessing a stellar performance by a rising star, and just feeling lucky to have seen the performance in a small venue before the artist breaks into the big time. Living in NJ, where there seems to be something in the water that makes good musicians, this feeling happens pretty regularly. Unfortunately, most of the rising stars I see end up toiling around the NJ music scene, playing stellar performances night after the night for small audiences, and never getting noticed, or worse, getting noticed by a major label, and then getting screwed by the label...(more)

Review: Will Hoge / Backyard Tire Fire - 11/15/06
Often when I go to review a rock show, I have pen and paper at the ready to jot down notes. After all, I'm there to report on the show, so I should be professional and accurate in the information that I am conveying to you...(more)

Message From Lazlo

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to year 7 of BlowUpRadio.com!

Hope you got to tune into Lazlo's Den all last week, as I looked back over the last 6 years. If you missed it, you missed hearing some very rare live cuts from our archives, as well as some excerpts from interviews done over the last 6 years.

But that look back doesn't mean BlowUpRadio.com is over and done. In fact I'm supercharged and ready to begin year 7 with a cool FREE rock show this Friday.

So come out and get your holiday weekend started right!

And then I want to mention the annual "Dogs Of War Cancer Benefit" show taking place on Saturday, but I'll let organizer Mike Grau do the talking here.

"The Christmas Dogs of War 2006 are taking place this Saturday December 23rd. This strange evening of holiday music is actually a fund raiser for Michael Daly of Sayreville who is currently battling cancer. Anyone who's ever been to a Dogs of War knows it's a night to remember...great music...insane activities....bizarre holiday renditions....stormtroopers....etc...it's a blast...and it's for a great cause.

The show this year is at Buddies Tavern 277 Johnson Lane Parlin NJ...the show is hosted by our great friend Al Muzer...

The show starts at 8 p.m. sharp and there are over 20 performers slated to blow out their 15 minutes of fame right before your eyes.

It's going to be a great time so try your very best to make it down and have some fun while helping someone out who's having a rough go of it. It's what this season is supposed to be about...

Hey...we're even dragging out the ORIGINAL Marbles...so come on down and see Frank, Joe Sardoni, and myself burn through some stuff that's been on a shelf for over 20 years....

Hope to see you at the show

Mike Grau
