2. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO

Another week gone by already? Where do they go? Next thing you know it will be fall and I won't be dying in this 100 degree weather ;)

So the big news this week is there are a couple of blowupradio.com shows on the horizon. Mark Friday August 16th and Friday August 23rd on your calendars now, because you will not want to miss these shows.

Friday August 16th at the Broadway Central Cafe we have a night of rock & roll featuring (in order of apperance):

My Pocket Zoo ~ I recently said of this band, "They mix, "rockabilly, disco, and lounge music", into a pop rock creation that makes you want to dance and rock out at the same time, and to top it off lead singer Lloyd Gold can often times be seen playing a ukelele!?!?!" This band also has dancing robots, need I say more? Show up early and catch these guys.

Particle Zoo ~ That's right, because one band with Zoo in their name just wasn't enough for this rock and roll animal, we give you Particle Zoo, a band that show up to have fun and rock out, as a sticker on keyboardist Jay Holler's keyboards says, "I'm a rocker, I rock out!" Indeed they do.

Hero Pattern ~ If you haven't already bought their split ep (4 songs from HP, 4 songs from Val Emmich), "the reception e.p.", then you not only must see them live, you then must buy the CD. These kids do catchy pop alternative rock that will undoubtably one day be all over modern rock radio. See them in a small initmate venue while you still can.

The Stems ~ This band, formerly known as Random, do pop punk without trying to sound like the watered down muck currently "blinking" up pop radio. Do yourself a favor and stick around to see this band with both a female and male vocalist.

Ok, that's enough hype for this week, I'll let the cat out of the bag about the August 23rd show soon.

And be on the lookout in the Star Ledger for a story on Internet radio & the battle over royalties. I was asked to comment on the matter and may be quoted heavily in the upcoming article.
