2. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO

It's that time of the month again...you know, the third Wednesday of the month. That's right it's time for another BlowUpRadio.com Folk You! show at Rodeo-Ristra.

This month is another great line-up:

Lanky ~ "Eddie Van Halen is the reason why I picked up the guitar. I mean think about it, he had that unmistakable Stratocaster and a shit-eating grin. He was way cool.", this explains the pop rock riffs singer/songwriter Lanky employs, but how did he end up with the softer singer/songwritersound ? "My love of music probably started when we would sing along to John Denver and Kenny Rogers Records." An interesting combination and an electrifying live performer, makes Lanky a perfect addition to the Folk You! shows.

Mike Tichy ~ As a kid growing up in Northern New Jersey, Mike Tichy began writing and recording songs so he could have listening material in the car, while traveling to work and school. Imitating the chord progressions of Elton John and The Beatles, his daily routine gave way to a new song every morning, invented and recorded on the 4-track the night before. Hundreds of songs and many years later, Mike began unintentionally recording his first release "Popcore" in his bedroom around the spring of 2000. Later that year he began to perform solo/acoustic. Now performing mostly with a band, here is a rare opportunity to see him go back to his solo roots.

Jim Testa ~ Anti Folk popster with humorous and bittersweet songs about people, places, and things, Jim Testa is best known as the editor of Jersey Beat fanzine and a widely published rock critic. He also came up with the name of the show, Folk You!

John Raido ~ John Raido is a singer/songwriter that has a strong foundation in traditional country and folk stylings. He wrote, sang, played all the instruments and self-produced his CD, "see you next Tuesday". Come see him play his intimate music in this intimate setting.

The show begins at 9 sharp. Don't be late.
There is no cover charge!
Rodeo Ristra is located at 230 Washington St, Hoboken, NJ

See you there!

Peace,
Lazlo
