BlowUpRadio.com & Jersey Beat presents
Folk You! @ Golhawk Tues. May 24th

Message From Lazlo

Hey Everyone,

So by now most have you have already heard the news that another local venue that supported original live music has closed it's doors. Uncle Joe's was never the greatest venue, it's layout and soundsystem was far from great, but it was a venue that gave original bands a place to play. With it's closing, we are all reminded how few places there are in NJ that support original music, and how we need to support those places to ensure their longevity as a place to see up and coming artists. There is a lot of talent in New Jersey, and any of the bands you hear on BlowUpRadio.com have the potential to be the next big thing, but if there are no places left for them to play, then we all miss out.

So make sure you frequent venues that support original music. It's not hard to tell which ones they are, they are the venues you see listed on the Concert Calendar every week, most of them struggling to stay open because the owners and bookers care about the music too. So go to those venues and thank their staff for supporting original music. Let them know there are a lot of us out there that are thankful for having a place to go to see good original music.

R.I.P. Uncle Joe's...may you be the last supporter of original music to close it's doors...

Peace,
Lazlo

UNCLE JOE'S CLOSES IT'S DOORS

It seems like such commonplace these days for places that support local original music to close it's doors. The latest sad casuality is Uncle Joe's. According to a post on Uncle Joe's My Space page the venue has been sold and shut down...(more)

It's rare that the opening band on a 4-band bill steals the thunder but that's the case at Maxwell's on Saturday, as the newly reunited Aviso'Hara kicks off an excellent evening of local bands. Aviso'Hara was one of the most popular...(more)
