Hi Everyone, I am having a bad day...my car is in the shop for some costly repairs, and my sinuses are so clogged I feel my head pulsing. About the only thing making me feel good right now is that this Saturday's Folk You! show at SICA has an incredible line-up. Starting with Dale Lakata from Wordz doing a solo set, followed by Jason "you can't there from here NJ" Didner, former Spredhaus front-woman Johanna Stahley, and closing out the night is sure to be an energetic set from Rick "stupid American Girl" Barry.
So while my week may begin crappy, this weekend is sure to rock! Hope to see you at the show! Support Local Music Live! ~~~~~~~~~~ And now a message for all the musicians reading this... I am helping some people in putting together the Black River Music Fest, scheduled to take place Saturday August 19th (raindate Sun. Aug. 20th), in Chester, NJ. The Black River Music Festival will be a day-long outdoor music event featuring 2 stages and some of the best local musical artists in a variety of styles. On a typical summer day, Chester attracts 1000's of shoppers, so this festival will be a great opportunity for bands to gain exposure. Bands wanting to apply for slots on one of the stages at the Black River Music Festival should go HERE, and download the Application (in .doc or .pdf format), fill it out, and send it, along with a copy of your CD to: Black River Music Festival, c/o Blu-Violet, 35 Perry Street, Chester, NJ 07930.
