Message From Lazlo

Hi Everyone,

Much to talk about this week, so let's begin.

This Saturday BlowUpRadio.com presents a FREE rock show at Buddie's Tavern, 277 Johnsons Lane, Parlin, NJ. Buddie's is conveniently located just off route 9, and is only minutes from Starland Ballroom. They also have ample parking, great food (pizza, burgers, sandwiches, snacks), and did I mention there's no cover charge.

And the line-up is 3 great garage and punk rock bands:

Funch
Funch is a New Jersey band influenced by the spirit of rock and roll as it was established in the 1950s by artists such as Little Richard and The Teenagers. Equal influence comes from the punk and metallic rock of the late 1970s and early 80s: early Ramones and Misfits, Black Sabbath, the Bad Brains, the Paul DiAnno era Iron Maiden, early GBH, early Motorhead...We have remained friends for many years. This band is a labor of love (love for music) that has kept our friendships solid since 1994 when the band began. We do not play for money or to get “signed” or anything else other than making the best possible street rock and roll we can muster up.

Grover Kent
Grover Kent was formed as Wisenheimer in 1995. They played irregularly under that name until 2001 when some mean people in Florida made them change it. Something about “having it first” or something. Whatever. They are still going to take over the world one basement at a time.

The Anderson Council
The Anderson Council love hooks, good chord progressions, and the occasional FREAKOUT. They're from New Brunswick, New Jersey but Peter sings with an English accent (think Ray Davies or Syd Barrett). People like to make a big deal of this, but we don't think it is. The songs don't sound right with an American inflection. 2001 Saw the release of their debut CD "Coloursound" which is now out of print. The band has just released their second full length CD "The Fall Parade".

So come out Saturday night and support local music!

Kosmic Daydream - live

Jen and Adam founded Kosmic Daydream in 2001. Their first several performances were as an acoustic duo. Since those humble beginnings, and with the addition of Jimmi and a succession of drummers, the band has evolved into an electrically charged musical juggernaut...
