Newsletter 1-26-09

Hey Everyone,

I’ve been trying to write a lot more on the blogs on BlowUpRadio.com & LazlosDen.com, so I think I will be keeping the newsletter shorter from now on and just “bullet point” the important stuff.

We're back baby! BlowUpRadio.com's Free Concert Series does it's first show of 2009 this Saturday at Buddie's Tavern (277 Johnson's Ln., Parlin (Sayreville), NJ). And what a line-up to kick off the new year of free shows. Kicking off the night will be a solo acoustic performance from Joshua Van Ness. His new CD, "DNA", is so good it came in at number 5 in my top 50 album countdown of 2008. Playing second, is Finding Fiction, an indie-rock band from NYC whose EP, "plastic & change", placed at number 20 in that very same top 50 countdown. Closing out the night is The Tea & Whiskey, who do not have an album out yet, but blew the crowd away the last time they played one of our shows back in October. The band features Scruff (from Kohuff, The Vacationers) on vocals.

Did you miss the interview with Dave Wakeling of the English Beat (and General Public) last week on Lazlo’s Den? Well good news, it’s up in the Interview Archive at www.LazlosDen.com.

Also keep an eye on the website as we have a lot of interviews coming soon to Lazlo’s Den.

And don’t forget to tune into Lazlo’s Den every Monday thru Friday @ 8pm ET. We’ll be continuing the “CD Library Project”, and tomorrow will be “New Music Tuesday” with a whole slew of new music.

BlowUpRadio.com continues to ask:

BlowUpRadio.com should play music by defunct NJ bands...

- as frequently as current NJ bands

- less frequently than current NJ bands

- not at all (if I can't see them live why play them)

~

And LazlosDen.com asks:

Are you enjoying the 'CD Library Project' on Lazlo's Den?

- Yes

- No

~

Weigh in with your thoughts now.

That's all for this week folks.

Peace,
Lazlo
