Hey Everyone,

This is a show not to be missed, with three great bands!

And did we mention it’s free!

Also, great beer and food…not free, but each purchase helps pay the bands, so eat, drink, and be merry on Saturday night at Buddie’s Tavern!

And now it’s time for the concert picks of the week

Lazlo ('s Free Concert Series returns to Buddie's Tavern on Saturday with three fun bands, The Randy Morning Band, Jon Caspi Band, and Deena & The Laughing Boys (featuring Deena Shoskes of the Cucumbers). Three great bands at a great venue, with no cover charge. Come on out for a good time.

Jim Testa (Jersey Beat)

Nelson Pla always does a reunion show for his birthday with his band Clueless. This year it's benefit for the Global Fund for Women -- good bands, good cause.

Thursday, April 9
GLOBAL FUND FOR WOMEN BENEFIT with The Fave, Ted Mason (of Modern English,) ClueLess, G-Spot - Maxwells, 1039 Washington St. Hoboken - 8 pm, $10, 18+

Gary Wien (Asbury Music)

Picks this week include a special Monday night show at The Saint in Asbury Park with the reunion of Days Awake / Eryn Shewell Band / Maybe Pete. And then on Friday night, the Saint is host to the CD release party for Christian Beach. Rounding out the bill is Arlan Feiles and The Sunday Blues a great new band comprised of Keith McCarthy (Maybe Pete) and Lindsey Miller (Divine Sign).

And now for this week’s Pissed Off!

I wasn’t going to do a Pissed Off this week…and then I saw this:

“We're disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship…It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well-being of the child."

- Sarah Palin spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton

So Sarah Palin is angry at Levi Johnston for appearing on the Tyra Banks Show.

Now, I’m not going to defend Levi, he doesn’t seem like a very smart person.

However, it’s ludicrous for Palin to complain about being an opportunist and appearing on talk shows, SINCE SHE’S BEEN DOING THE SAME THING SINCE THE MCCAIN/PALIN TICKET LOST THE ELECTION.

Shit, I still can’t go a day or two without seeing her name in the papers in her “quest for fame, attention, and fortune”

And here is a link to just one of several news sites that fact checks things she’s said

No surprise that she engages “in flat-out lies, (and) gross exaggeration”.

So I’m calling you out Sarah. I don’t have a problem with you telling Levi to stay out of the media spotlight, but you need to do that too. You lost, it’s over. You’re the governor of Alaska, and governors don’t get to chime in on every issue. So shut the fuck up already!

That's all for this week folks.
