Well believe me when I say I’ve been working on a lot behind the scenes here at BlowUpRadio.com.

Friday July 2nd, kick off Independence day weekend with a free concert in Red Bank's Marine Park. The concert features some great acts like Woodfish, Matt O'Ree, Jill Hennesy, and Jo Wymer & The Itty Bitty Band.

It's not the Fourth of July unless the Feelies are at Maxwells, and this year they are doing a three-night stint July 2 -3 -4. The legendary indie rock pioneers from Haledon NJ have been back together for over a year and sound better than ever. Expect a few new songs and at least one surprising cover.
July 2, 3, 4 - The Feelies - Maxwells, 1039 Washington St. Hoboken - 9:30 pm, $25, 18+

This Friday 7/2 beginning at 6pm in Marine Park on Wharf Ave. in Red Bank NJ... "Rock The River" a free concert presented by 90.5 Brookdale Public Radio will be taking place. Kick off your fourth of July weekend with several local acts like JILL HENNESSY, MATT O'REE, JO WYMER & THE ITTY BITTY BAND as well as the headliner WOODFISH. Here's to a safe and Rockin' holiday weekend! ROCK ON!

PISSED OFF!
Senator Robert Byrd died this morning.
He was a great man, who did a lot of great things during his tenure in congress.
He is also a man who "flip-flopped", as politicians (and pundits) like to say.
But, I've always felt that someone changing their mind when faced with facts is a good thing.
I'm not sure why politicians like to attack people as if it's a bad thing.
Take for instance Sen. Byrd's big "flip-flop":

He opposed civil rights when he first ran for office, a stance he came to regret later in life. He blamed "that Southern atmosphere in which I grew up, with all of its prejudices and its feelings," for his opposition to equal rights, which included joining the Ku Klux Klan in the 1940s.
He called the move "the greatest mistake of my life," an "albatross" that would always shadow his career.
"It's a lesson to the young people of today, that once a major mistake has been made in one's life," he said, "it will always be there, and it will be in my obituary."

We all make mistakes, and, hopefully, we all learn from them.
Sometimes not "flip-flopping" is a far worse offense, then "flip-flopping".
R.I.P. Senator Byrd. I will remember you as many things, but I think most, I will remember you as someone who had the strength to admit he made a mistake. To few politicians (and regular citizens), seem willing to admit that they can make mistakes.
Let (s)he who has never made a misteak cast the first stone.
