Sorry folks, no new music shows this week. Just not enough new music this time of year to fill an hour, BUT, we do have a new "New & Notable" column hitting New Jersey Stage (see info above)

24 years ago today (December 15th as I am typing this) I set up an internet radio station to play local NJ artists.
I think I had about 15-20 local albums when I started.
Word of mouth quickly spread, thanks to an Aquarian article by Al Muzer, and local artists telling other local artists. We've now played tens of thousands of artists over the years, and hope to play tens of thousands more in the next 24 years.
Word of mouth is still one of our biggest ways of attracting an audience and new artists to play on air.

I have also explained before why it is "us", and not just me, and this bears repeating.
BlowUpRadio.com is more than just a website and an internet station. it is a community. Musicians have met because of BlowUpRadio.com and have worked on music, shows, and bands together because of it. Musicians have hosted shows on BlowUpRadio.com, done interviews & reviews for us, and every benefit we do is the product of numerous artists working together to make it possible. This includes our upcoming Rock Against Hate vols. 5 & 6, which i will have more info on soon.
A musician just recently called me a "lifer", and he is right. In the same way a musician can't imagine not making music or performing, I can't imagine not doing BlowUpRadio.com. When we had our "gas leak year" [editor: that's a Community reference] From February 2016 to March 2017 when Live365 went bankrupt shutting down our internet station (and thousands of others), I found a way to keep using BlowUpRadio.com to promote NJ music. The second Live365 was bought by another company and came back, so did our station.
I just can't imagine my life without BlowUpRadio.com.
So thank you, whether you are a musician whose music we play, or someone who just enjoys listening and reading about our local music scene, you are part of this community!
